1804 Ornament
Kathy Barrick designed this nifty ornament called A York Christmas Ornament since she moved into a house that was built in 1804. I've long been attracted to this ornament and had started it a while ago and never got back to it. Picking it up again was a breeze and the finishing was a joy. 1804 was one incredible year. Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on July 4th.... Lewis and Clark Expedition departs from Camp Dubois and begins their history journey up the Missouri River....the first recorded meteorite fall is Possil Scotland....Alexander Hamilton was shot during a duel with Aaron Burr (he died the next day)....Jefferson defeats Pinckney in the US presidential election.....Spain declares war with Britian.....world population reaches 1 billion.....John Deere was born (think tractors)....a formal ceremony is conducted to transfer ownership of Louisiana Territory from France to the US....and haiti gains independence from France.
