XS Finishes for the year

In another month a whole new list will be started for my 2007 XS accomplishments. Looking back over this year's list (what I can remember) I've not done too bad considering there's been another baby added to the family and I did a fair amount of traveling this fall. Now it's time to start thinking about what I'd like to accomplish next year and actually put it on paper or the blog before 2007 arrives. (This list will be modified as I fill in what I've forgotten or as I finish up projects before I run out of time).

Quaker Medallion Strawberry Pinkeep

I was looking for a quick and easy stitch that I could work on while I was in Washington DC last week and found this Blackbird Designs piece from the 2006 JCS Ornament Issue. I grabbed some 32 count Belfast linen and GAST Clover to take along and quickly copied the page from the magazine and flew out the door. Considering how little time I had to stitch since my husband went along on this trip, I have to say this was a delightful piece that worked up very quickly. Now I have to get the magazine out again and read the instructions on how to finish it and actually get it done so I can hang it on my tree this year.

Gameboard in Progress

This is my current obsession. I'm determined to finish this gameboard before next Christmas for my son, and considering the time I have available to stitch these days, that may be a stretch for me. I started it on August 5th, planned to do a motif and house a week and as you can see I'm pretty far behind. Lately it's the only thing I can even think about stitching on, but I have decided to leave it home while I'm in DC next week and if I have any time to stitch I'll focus on something else.

Here's the cat with his head. This was too much fun to stitch...now back to that gameboard. (I noticed in posting this that kitty needs his right arm fixed).

Another BOAF finish

These BOAF charts are such a hoot that I have another almost finish. I'm having too much fun with this cat not having a head, but I'll be sure he gets one by tomorrow.

Another recent finish is this BOAF called Girl's Best Friend.

This is another recent finish. It's a Mary Kirby Bookmark that I got from Ann and Liz for completing the Mary Kirby series (see the coupon in the Kenya Mary Kirby kit). Besides the little bookmark kit they included, a leather scissor sheath with BRIGHTNEEDLE on it, punched thread cards, and the little notepad with Brightneedle on it. THANKS ANN and LIZ!!!!! It was the perfect end to a wonderfully fun project.
